IDT 7060-8060: Fun this fall

I would like to welcome my students today to IDT 7060/8060: Technology Tools to Support Learning. In this intermediate skills course, we will discuss instructional design and learning theories briefly, then we’ll tackle message and graphic design, self-paced instruction, designing instructional websites, and animation. This is going to be a blast!  I will, however, leave it up to you to determine if this is the S.S. Fun Ship or not. (I created this course about 3 years ago, but I have never got to teach it. I spend a lot of time teaching learning theories and project management.)

I have created our course materials inside a wikispace at http://techtoolsforlearning.pbworks.com/.  You will need to request access to our course, and I will approve you.  Then in your email, you will receive a link to create your password.

In addition to our course site, I would invite you to add your email address to my blog’s email update (no spam!) or you can subscribe to my RSS feed if you use a feedreader such as Google Reader.  I try to push out lots of useful bookmarks, and I try to write about topics that really impact regular instructional designers, developers, and teachers.

After you’ve requested access, be sure to go ahead and continue on with the “Warm-up!” activity.  I’ve linked to the slide here as well.
